Nigerian actress Motola Odunsi has reportedly been announced dead.
In a brief shared on popular social media blog Famzstazs, it stated that the movie star had passed on.

While details surrounding the rumoured tragic passing of the indigenous star are yet to be known, fans and netizens have begun mourning her online.
In a 2024 interview with Vanguard, the actress admitted that she frequently receives unexpected and sometimes uncomfortable texts from admirers, particularly younger guys.
“I get many embarrassing messages.The most surprising ones come from underage guys asking me out and calling me romantic names. It’s obvious they’re too young, so I just ignore them.”
When asked whether it is tough for actresses to find love, Omotola admitted that it could be difficult owing to their public image.
"People often believe that we are the characters we play in films, but that's a misconception; our roles don't define who we truly are."

The actress also expressed an eagerness to play a variety of characters, including a profoundly in love 'lover girl', a streetwise 'tout', and an 'aggressive housewife'.
Omotola, a protégé of Nollywood actress Odunlade Adekola, said at the time that she aimed to add diversity to her craft.

Actress Regina Chukwu mourns Motola Odunsi
Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has mourned the passing of her junior colleague, Motola Odunsi, whose death was announced on Thursday, July 31.
While Regina was mourning Odunsi, she mentioned the passing of another colleague, a man, whom they both featured in a movie recently.
She noted that Odunsi was always full of life and always had a big smile when dancing, something she did regularly until her sudden death.
She noted that the news of the death of both actors she got on the same day, while praying for the souls of the departed.
She wrote:
"Was still dealing with the news of that lady that is always full of life, always dancing with a big smile and positive vibes and there goes more bad news .. that yesterday was scary! RIP to all departed souls."

Actor Segbowe mourns Motola
Nollywood actor Akinola Akano also mourned the death of Motola. He noted that he still checked up on her a few days before her death when she told him she was not feeling fine, but that she was better.
Segbowe, as Akano is fondly called, shared screenshots of their conversation to his post. He captioned it:
"Motola! 💔Ah! Strange but I tried checking on you at the wee hours of that morning. You said you were FINE & BACK! This is a rude shock, Omotola! Journey well, sister 🕊️God be with your family"

Actress Nkechi Nweje dies after illness
Meanwhile, Legit.ng also reported that Stanley Ontop had announced the death of actress Nkechi Nweje.
He said he had been aware of the news for hours but was unable to share it because it felt like a nightmare.
The movie producer described Nweje as his best friend and disclosed that she died after a brief bout of illness.
