Legit.ng recalls reporting that Mohbad's father faced criticisms following the former Marlian singer's death, with his stance on conducting a DNA test on Mohbad's son, Liam, being one of the talking points.

In a clip from a live session with music executive Paulo and Daddy Freeze, a man explained that Mohbad's father was treated unfairly by Nigerians because he was poor.
According to the man, Nigerians would not have oppressed Aloba if he were a well-to-do man.
"Mohbad's dad was not treated well because he's poor. Mohbad’s father was not treated fairly, because he does not have money. If Mohbad's dad was some that has level, the way Nigerians oppressed him, it would not happen," the man said.
