Representing Nigeria through the Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), Nafisa emerged victorious among more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
Her achievement marked a historic moment for both her state and nation, as she outperformed students from native English-speaking countries in a competition renowned for its rigorous assessment of English proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills.
TeenEagle English Language competition showcases global talent
The TeenEagle contest is an internationally recognised academic challenge that brings together students from English-speaking and non-English-speaking nations. It aims to evaluate participants’ mastery of the English language alongside their analytical and expressive capabilities.
Nafisa’s win was confirmed in a statement by the head of her family, Hassan Salifu, who praised her unwavering dedication and discipline. He also credited the enabling support of the Yobe State government for playing a pivotal role in her success.
“Our daughter’s global success would not have been possible without the visionary support for education by His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose efforts have brought international honour to our state and nation,” Salifu said, as quoted by Leadership.

Boy wins scholarship worth N24 million

According to education activist Alex Onyia, who shared the good news on X, the boy won a scholarship worth N24 million. He identified the boy as Agu Chijindu, noting that he won the Evergreen Schools Enugu Annual Mathematics Olympiad Competition.
