According to the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chudi Nwabueze, the integration with MTN allows Vitel Wireless to deliver high-quality voice, data, and value-added services to customers throughout the country.
Leveraging MTN’s robust network infrastructure, Vitel will offer reliable coverage and connectivity, enabling more Nigerians to stay connected with ease.
“Our collaboration with MTN ensures that we can introduce competitive plans and innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of consumers,” Nwabueze said.
Competitive plans and flexible packages for all
The COO noted that Vitel Wireless is now well-positioned to introduce a wide range of service offerings, including flexible packages and customised plans tailored to different customer needs.
From budget-conscious users to high-data consumers, the company says it is ready to serve all segments of Nigeria’s telecom market.
Nwabueze emphasised that the company’s approach centres on accessibility, affordability, and customer experience.
“We are bringing next-generation telecom solutions to Nigerians,” he added.
Historic firsts in Nigeria’s MVNO sector
Vitel Wireless has already established itself as a pioneer in Nigeria’s MVNO space. After being licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) as one of 46 MVNOs, Vitel became the first operator in the sector to issue a numbering plan and receive national and international routing codes.
It is also the first in Africa to launch a location awareness network, and the first MVNO in Nigeria to achieve interconnectivity with Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile, in addition to its MTN partnership.
Commitment to digital transformation
Nwabueze said the company’s vision aligns with Nigeria’s broader digital transformation goals. “Our official launch is a commitment to delivering accessible and innovative mobile solutions for Nigerians,” he noted. “We are here to contribute to Nigeria’s digital economy in a meaningful and impactful way.”
With its strong infrastructure partnerships and national reach, Vitel Wireless is poised to become a major player in Nigeria’s telecom industry, offering Nigerians more choices and better value in mobile services.

New number series emerges
A previous report by Legit.ng disclosed that Lebara Nigeria, a subsidiary of the London-based Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Lebara, has officially secured the 0724 phone number series as it prepares to fully launch in Q3 2025.
The new development marks a major step in its strategic entry into the Nigerian telecom market.
In a statement, the company said it has secured full interconnectivity with all major mobile network operators in the country.
Experts explain benefits of MVNOs
Legit.ng earlier reported that move in June 2023 by the Nigerian Communications Commission to open up licensing for independent Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) had the potential to spark a rush of digital innovation, industry observers are saying.
And as this "great Nigerian MVNO race" becomes a one-of-a-kind laboratory for creating innovative mobile communications products and infrastructure models, businesses worldwide are watching closely to learn what the market will adopt and where they should invest their development budgets in the coming years.
While MVNOs have been a big part of the international telecommunications industry for decades, the first MVNO model was launched by Virgin Mobile UK in 1999.
