MTN Foundation To Train Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs, Offers N90m for Equipment
- MTN Foundation Phase 6 of its ICT and Business Skills Training will be supported by Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge
- The telecoms gaint plans to equip yonng Nigrian enterprenuers with N90 million in equipment grants

The MTN Foundation is set for the sixth phase of its ICT and Business Skills Training programme.
The programme offers young Nigerian entrepreneurs equipment grants worth 90 million naira ($59,000).

In a statement the telecoms company said that the programme is a five-week online course, delivered in partnership with Microsoft and Meta.
The target is for business owners aged 18 to 35 in Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Kebbi, Niger and Yobe states, Newstelegraph reports.

It added that Microsoft will provide modules on Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age, ICT for Business Success and Generative AI, while Meta will train participants on digital marketing and online brand growth through its Meta Boost for Small Business programme.
MTN enterprenuership programme
Since 2018, the initiative has trained 4,036 entrepreneurs across 16 states, including Lagos, Rivers and Kano, with support from partners such as Oracle, Google, IBM and Cisco.
MTN said this year, 3,000 youths are expected to benefit, with the top 300 participants receiving equipment grants. All trainees will also receive data support to aid participation.
The statement reads:
"MTN ICT and Business Skills Training is a Youth Development initiative aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 years with tech enabled skills to keep their small businesses relevant and competitive.
"The training will be delivered through a 5-week online programme which includes Masterclasses from key industry experts.

"Participants will be given data for the duration of the programme to support a seamless learning experience. Not only that, the top 300 participants will be supported with an Equipment Grant worth N90,000,000! Yes, you read that right.
"In partnership with some of our ecosystem partners – Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, CISCO, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, 5 Phases of the ICT and Business Skills Training have been implemented in 16 states since 2018.
"They are Abia, Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Borno, Cross River, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Oyo and Rivers. So far 4,036 young people have completed this programme."

Eligible applicants must be Nigerian citizens, aged 18–35, who run a small business not older than two years and reside in one of the six selected states.
The Foundation said the programme highlights MTN’s commitment to equipping young entrepreneurs with digital tools to compete in Nigeria’s fast-changing market.
