The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has barred popular Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, from flying within Nigeria for six months.
Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, made this known during a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

He noted that the disciplinary action was taken in response to an incident on Tuesday, August 6 at the domestic terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
A video has surfaced online allegedly showing Wasiu Ayinde arguing with airport officials and standing in front of a moving ValueJet plane.

Achimugu explained that the artist reportedly spilled alcohol on an airline staff member during the boarding process, Leadership reports.
He said:
"No individual, no matter how influential, is above the rules that govern civil aviation conduct.
"We are taking this step to ensure that standards are upheld and airport workers are protected from harassment."
FAAN confirmed the incident involving Wasiu Ayinde
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in an earlier statement confirmed KWAM 1’s disorderly behaviour during boarding for a commercial flight.
In a statement released on Wednesday, FAAN said the musician was seen holding a bottle of alcohol and spilling it on a cabin crew member.

"Preliminary investigations confirmed that the passenger was scheduled to board the morning flight to Lagos, operated by ValueJet Airlines (Flight VK 201).
"During boarding, the passenger attempted to carry an unidentified liquid substance on board, despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the Flight Captain.
"In accordance with international aviation security standards—specifically Nigeria’s National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and ICAO Annex 17—iquids exceeding 100ml are not permitted through security screening unless medically necessary and properly declared. The passenger was informed of this regulation but reportedly declined to comply."
"As boarding continued, an airline security officer requested that the passenger step aside for further clarification. The passenger allegedly refused and spilled the contents of the flask—later confirmed to be alcohol—on the officer. The Flight Captain intervened but encountered similar resistance. Upon confirmation that boarding was complete, the Captain instructed the closure of the aircraft door."
"The Authority will not tolerate any actions that compromise operational integrity or undermine aviation safety standards, regardless of the individuals involved."

In a similar incident, Legit.ng reported that Air Peace said its flight was disrupted due to an incident involving the former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole.
The airline claimed that the prominent Nigerian politician arrived late at the airport and caused a major disturbance after missing his flight.
Oshiomhole allegedly assaulted airline staff and barricaded the terminal entrance, preventing other passengers from accessing the terminal.
