Tinubu's Govt Announces Fresh Plan for Kaduna Textile Industry

Kaduna, Kaduna state - The federal government has declared its intention to revive the moribund Kaduna Textile to boost the economy of the country.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, made this assertion at the 2-Day Interactive Season on Government-Citizens Engagement on Tuesday, July 29, in Kaduna State while leading a delegation from Abuja, as reported by The Punch.
The federal government delegation, comprising President Bola Tinubu's appointees from the North, is headed by Akume."
The event had in attendance the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, the Women Affairs Minister, Hajiya Imaam Suleiman-Ibrahim, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), among others.
The event, with the theme “Assessing Electoral Promises: Fostering Government-Citizens Engagement for National Unity,” was organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.
According to Akume, Tinubu’s desire to develop all parts of Nigeria is sacrosanct and a task that must be achieved.
“The Tinubu administration intends to industrialise the country through diversification. We are looking at those days of Kaduna Textile and many other industrialised areas in the north.
“We intend to revisit those good old days of the Kaduna Textile to further boost and solidify the economy of the country via industrialisation," Akume explained.

Tinubu speaks on subsidy reallocation
Legit.ng previously reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that the funds saved from the removal of fuel subsidy are being invested in critical infrastructure projects, social safety nets, and targeted economic reforms aimed at rebuilding public trust and fostering inclusive development across the country.
The President stated this at the opening of the National Conference on Public Accounts and Fiscal Governance, organised by the Public Accounts Committees (PACs) of the Senate and House of Representatives on Monday in Abuja.
Tinubu, who was represented by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, said the fuel subsidy regime was fiscally reckless and unjust.

Legit.ng gathered that President Tinubu expressed this commitment during the opening ceremony of the three-day National Conference on Fiscal Governance, Transparency, and Accountability, held in Abuja on Monday, July 7.
The three-day event was organised by the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee. The President, represented by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, said efforts are underway to strengthen financial systems across government agencies.
