Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, August 1, the leader of the CGGCI, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, and the President of HURIWA, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, expressed concern over recent media campaigns and protests targeting the NNPCL leadership under Dr. Bayo Ojulari, warning that these actions could undermine progress in the oil sector.

The statement reads, "We respectfully urge His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to remain vigilant and discerning regarding the motives of those peddling unfounded allegations and character assassinations against the GMD.

The groups noted that the nation is still grappling with the legacy of widespread corruption that plagued the oil sector under previous leadership. In a bid to tackle this issue, President Bola Tinubu appointed Dr. Bayo Ojulari as GMD of NNPCL, signalling a new era of reform and transparency.
