The actor and comedian, playfully calling herself “kind of a detective,” shared how events unfolded when Cecily Strong’s fiancé, Jack, was orchestrating his proposal during her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers. According to Strong:
We were discussing the possibility of getting married when suddenly he exclaimed, "I’m so inundated with emails and texts, look at this.' And he showed me his phone, and the first text was from a friend that said, ‘How did it go?! Ring emoji. And then, I was like. ‘Oh no, should I?’ And he went, ‘Did you see that?’ And I was like, ‘I could try very hard to lie, but…’ So then I knew.
She claimed that she informed her now-fiancé that his choice of proposal date would be a surprise since Jack's plan was already public knowledge. Strong explained:
I had kind of a rough night in December, and I was like, ‘Can I just wear the da...mn ring now?’ So, that’s how we got engaged.
